Mahendra Singh Dhoni made his first ODI debut on 23 September 2004 against Bangladesh and then played his first Test against Sri Lanka in the year 2005. he played his first T20 in the year 2006 against South Africa and again in 2007 He took over the ODI captaincy in 2007 and was also selected as India’s T20 captain this year and was also selected as the Test captain in 2008.
He played his last Test against Australia on 26 December 2014, then after that he announced his retirement from the Test format on 30 December 2014 and also left the captaincy from T20 and ODI cricket in 2017. And on 15 August 2020, Mahendra Singh Dhoni retired from all forms of international cricket and continued to play the IPL.
